Creator of the cool, retro community Babes Rage, Jenny Pierce's first love is the exciting energy all things Showgirl, Burlesque, Go Go dancing brings. This is how she keeps her vibe high and her chakras happy with the right balance of creative fun and self care time.
You describe yourself as a” Multi-faceted Content Creator”. Can you expand on that definition a bit for us?
Thank you so much for having me. Sure! My background and curiosity as a creative is very wide-ranging or multi-faceted. From go go dancing, to pin-up modeling, to detailing accessories, I love all facets of the creative process and many different genres. Each one of my creative endeavors or “facets” inspires or leads me to the next. Additionally, I am truly fueled by concepts. I identify as an idea person, a conceptual content creator. I’ve planted quite a few seeds as a creative. I allowed myself to explore many areas of interest. Currently, I'm enjoying expanding upon one of the creative projects I founded in NYC in 2017, Babes Rage!
What inspired you to start your brand “Babes Rage” and can you tell us what it means to you in terms of female empowerment?
Babes Rage started as a group of friends with a shared passion for doing the pony, the twist, and the shimmy. Go go dance move classics! A lot of go go dancing from the 60s is quite quirky and a little wild. Go go dancing was “all the rage” so the term “Babes Rage” seemed to capture the essence of the movement. I am inspired by the 1960s and 1970s era in general. To me, being empowered is being active, accepting of others, open-minded, and embracing equality. I believe that babes can be simultaneously empowered, free and fun, sensual, and flirty.
What inspires you to keep creating new concepts and artistic pursuits?
Up to now, I have been motivated by expression and self-discovery. I love to experience focus and flow while working on a project. Creating comes naturally to me. It allows me to construct my own World in a way. For example, when I started pin-up modeling in 2015, I was very driven to create images because I wanted to see myself in a different manner. As a character of sorts. I knew that no one would give me permission to become an old Hollywood actress but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t visualize and create that World for myself! Life is too short not to follow your bliss and create your vision.
How do you structure your day?
Oh, Goddess help me learn to structure my day! I tend to follow my bliss. But in general, I like to wake-up with a cup of coffee, exercise, get ready, then tackle computer work or practical matters, take a break around early evening and then work again for a few hours at night. In general, I enjoy setting and meeting self-imposed deadlines.
How important is factoring “me” time?
“Me” time is essential. It’s a form of self-care and is totally vital. You can’t be your best for your family or community, if you aren’t showing up for yourself first.
What does “me time” look like for you?
“Me” time for me entails reading, studying Tarot, spending time on social media (although that is also crossed with business since I create content), I also enjoy girly self-care like getting my nails and toes done, soaking in the bathtub, the list goes on and on...
Where do you look for energetic support?
Such an interesting question! When I feel my energy is low, I press reset. I do that in a variety of ways such as simply taking a break from thinking, resting, exercising, burning sage, pulling a few Tarot cards for myself, arranging my crystals into a new grid, writing, drinking water, getting a little Sun. I also seek support from professionals such as therapists, body workers, or healers if necessary. Feeling good and keeping my vibration high is very important to me.
What are your top 3 tips for staying happy, whole and successful?
Exercise, drink a lot of water, eat well, sleep, stay away from toxic situations, listen to your intuition, think positively about yourself. If you notice an unhealthy pattern, lovingly take steps towards changing it.
I understand you came across Chakra Intimates through your search for eco-friendly lingerie. How challenging has that been for you to find earth conscious brands to fulfil your obvious obsession with costume and pin up style lingerie?
Chakra Intimates really spoke to me. It was one of the first brands I identified with on multiple levels. I think there are quite a few brands shifting towards a more earth conscious approach (to varying degrees). I do think it’s harder to capture the bold colors, glamour, and glitz involved in Burlesque and pin-up lingerie utilizing an earth conscious approach. But it’s not impossible! I’m eager to keep exploring and supporting.
Do you have other lingerie brands that you support because of their efforts towards sustainability or eco-conscious mission?
Not yet but I am in the process of doing a complete closet overhaul! Of course, I am interested in protecting the Earth and am aware that climate change, air and ocean pollution are detrimental. However, my personal reason initially for moving towards eco-friendly lingerie and clothes in general is to protect my body from harsh chemicals. If a brand can do both simultaneously, it’s a Win-Win!
How do you think we can impact this planet if we bought with preserving it in mind?
I think if people care more about their bodies and each other, the Earth will benefit as well and vice versa. If we care more about protecting the environment, we will also care about our own bodies and what we consume as well. I think a lot can be accomplished through elevating consciousness and sharing information.
Anything else you would like to add that could inspire or encourage someone reading this?
A huge part of the Babes Rage brand is to encourage babes to build their visions. I would like to encourage people to live creatively and by their own terms. Don’t wait to take those boudoir pictures, buy that lingerie set, or paint your first picture!
